Breakfast

issue four

Don’t you wish to be bacon in a pan?
The crisp, cool morning air, surrounding your warm delightful little house
No sound except the popping of the oil, complete peace across your dimly lit kitchen
The quiet normalcy you crave
You will never be the fried egg next to the hot bacon, nor the freshly toasted bread
You will never be the vibrant, bright orange juice on the kitchen table
You’ll never be at the kitchen table in the first place.
